Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) has agreed a new deal with maritime software developer MariApps Marine Solutions to improve the digital capabilities of its fleet operations.
KOTC, a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), owns and operates a fleet of 31 tankers, including Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), petroleum product tankers, and LPG carriers.
Schulte Group company MariApps will roll out its smartPAL package of applications to support the tanker owner, which includes more than 25 modules to address various aspects of ship management and operations.
The company will additionally implement digital logs, electronic oil record books, and a smartOps system for vessel performance monitoring.
KOTC will set up a fleet monitoring centre in Kuwait to manage its vessels in real-time as part of the project, with assistance from MariApps.
“As the digitalisation of the maritime industry increasingly propels forward, oil and gas companies in the region are looking to digitalise themselves and we look forward to MariApps on moving KOTC from legacy software to a modern solution that elevates the digitalisation of KOTC,” said Hamad Essa Al Meshari, KOTC’s Deputy CEO Financial Affairs and Administration.
