Jan De Nul Group has extended its communications contract with Castor Marine, with the company to deploy hybrid LEO and GEO connectivity systems across its fleet of more than 80 dredgers, jack-up barges, cable installation vessels, fall-pipe rock installation vessels, multipurpose ships, heavy lift vessels, and Unmanned Survey Vessels.
Following on from an existing three-year contract to deliver VSAT, Iridium and VoIP services signed in 2021, the new deal also includes the delivery of Starlink systems to the majority of the company’s vessels.
“In the past three years we’ve seen that Castor Marine delivers on its promises, which is important in building mutual trust and, of course, in daily practice where Jan De Nul regularly needs temporary project upgrades and downgrades on its vessels,” said Nils Crabeel, Vessel Communication Manager at Jan De Nul Group.
“We are happy with their support services. From the support desk to installation works, Castor Marine’s account management is one of short lines of communications, flexible and fast response times.”
