Höegh LNG is to standardise vessel technology networks across its fleet following an agreement with Navarino to adopt its Quazar IT-as-a-service platform.
The platform delivers a managed onboard IT infrastructure including hardware, software, support and maintenance, all for a single monthly fee.
Certified by Bureau Veritas, Quazar’s standardised set-up ensures compliance with cyber security requirements, while reducing the complexity of fleetwide system management for IT departments.
“We were seeking to standardise our operations – which we have achieved with Quazar. It not only meets our requirements but also provides full insight and control over our onboard IT infrastructure,” said Kjell Erik Hofland, Höegh LNG’s SVP IT.
“We enjoyed a smooth transition to this new solution with Navarino and we enjoy a very good working relationship. Quazar has provided standardisation which provides advantages including quicker resolution of issues, ease of knowledge-transfer between ships and of course, cost efficiencies.”
“The Quazar services have also provided cost predictability with a fixed monthly fee approach. All support or maintenance tickets are very transparent, with no additional costs even when extra support is needed. This model is unique in comparison to what else is available and works very well.”
