Autonomous ship navigation tech company Seadronix has launched a new system using artificial intelligence (AI) for marine object recognition, with its new VaDA (Vertical and Detail Attention) model designed to recognise objects in challenging marine conditions, such as light reflections and adverse weather.
The VaDA model was created following years of development by researchers collecting and analysing real-world operational data from the maritime industry.
That data will also be incorporated into a new Seadronix product called OASIs (Ocean AI Segmentation Initiatives), which can be used as a benchmark standard dataset for comparison of AI technologies for object recognition.
