Gaslog to automate and standardise dry-docking processes

LNG shipping company Gaslog is to automate its dry-docking processes, through a partnership with Norway-based maritime software firm Shipnet.

Gaslog has developed an Asset Integrity Roadmap to guide the evolution of its operations, which will see all dry-dockings managed holistically and on a lifecycle basis with detailed planning from early stages of the dry-dock cycle.

Dry-docking end-to-end management will be standardised and automated across the fleet as far as possible, with existing digital lifecycle maintenance platforms to be integrated with Shipnet’s software.

The central digital platform will then act as the foundation for all lifecycle planning, specifications, tendering to execution, project management, project closing and company dry docking statistics.

“The enhanced and powerful shipyard tenders comparison module, the detailed creation of owner’s repair specifications from pre-existing templates, user friendly and fully configurable setup along with a continuous improvement approach from developers who constantly add new features prompted us to nominate Shipnet for this project,” said Lampros Nikolopoulos, Asset Integrity Manager at Gaslog.

“Furthermore, Shipnet has the capability to host all the dry-docking planning and execution activities, including follow up and reporting, in a single platform and provides its users with enhanced insights.”
