Telesat has awarded a new contract to Intellian for the design, supply, installation and integration of ground infrastructure technologies for its upcoming Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation.
The deal covers 127 gateway antenna systems to be deployed at Telesat’s landing stations for the network, using a 4-metre Intellian unit engineered to optimise tracking precision and high gain performance for LEO satellites.
Each landing station will be equipped with multiple Intellian gateway antennas, as well as baseband, network, and control systems. These stations will route customer data to Points-of-Presence for telecom networks, internet, and cloud services, and will also facilitate private interconnections for customer networks.
