Oldendorff Carriers upgrades vessel IT platform

Oldendorff Carriers has completed an upgrade of the BlueCORE system installed on its fleet of bulk vessels, in partnership with Sea IT of Sweden.

The two companies have worked together since 2017, initially on the delivery of a hybrid IT platform, to support efficient operations and reliable connectivity at sea.

The latest version of the BlueCORE platform will be expected to improve system performance and provide flexibility to integrate future maritime technologies as they come available, offering automation features that optimise data management and ship-to-shore communication.

Additionally, cybersecurity protocols have also been improved in the latest version of the system to provide more robust protection against evolving cyber threats.

“The decision to upgrade to the next-generation BlueCORE system reflects our commitment to staying ahead in fleet technology and operational efficiency,” said Matthias Hamann, Head of IT Operations at Oldendorff Carriers.

“Our focus is on implementing functionality and tools that work seamlessly for our company. Sea IT has proven to be a reliable partner, and this upgrade will further enhance our vessel operations, increase reliability, and reduce maintenance complexities.”

“The advanced security features and scalable architecture of BlueCORE ensure that we are well-prepared for future maritime operations.”
