Geogas has agreed a deal to roll out Syroco’s voyage optimisation platform across its full fleet of more than 50 vessels, following a year-long pilot on two LPG carriers.
The system, Syroco Live, was initially installed on Jean Raspail and Freycinet, each 230 metres long and capable of carrying 90,000 cubic metres of gas. The trial allowed the vessels to follow optimised routes in varying weather conditions, supporting timely cargo delivery and reduced emissions.
“We are thrilled to expand our relationship with Syroco, following the significant results and the positive feedback from masters obtained during the initial deployment onboard two of our LPG carriers in 2024,” said Antoine Ratouis, Innovation Manager at Geogas.
“We look forward to similar results across our global fleet. This new agreement reaffirms our commitment to managing our environmental impact while ensuring access to one of the cleanest fossil fuels.”
Syroco Live uses real-time weather and sea data combined with digital twins of each vessel to calculate optimal routing. The platform integrates physics-based and naval architecture models with by AI to simulate ship performance and recommend routes that reduce fuel use and emissions.
The company says that the system can evaluate hundreds of thousands of routing options in minutes and operates virtually alongside the physical ship in real time.
