Swedish company Cetasol has introduced an updated version of its onboard Captain Display system, offering improved functionality to support real-time operational control and voyage planning.
Part of the company’s iHelm system, the new Captain Display 2.0 includes upgraded features such as intelligent speed and fuel gauges, real-time feedback on consumption, and a new start/stop function to support segment-based performance tracking.
Two new AI-driven gauges have been added to provide enhanced operational information. The Speed Gauge offers feedback on how speed changes impact fuel use and arrival times, while the Fuel Gauge tracks real-time and trip-based consumption to support emissions monitoring and performance evaluation.
The updated system also allows operators to customise metrics, including ‘Fuel Now’, ‘CO₂ Emissions Now’, and ‘CO₂ Emissions per Leg’, and select from three operational modes – non-repeatable, repeatable, and semi-repeatable – designed for different voyage types and operational profiles.
Cetasol’s iHelm platform includes three main components: the onboard Cetasol Main Unit (CMU), the Captain Display, and a cloud-based dashboard for fleet-level analysis. Data is collected onboard and transferred via IoT networks.
