CyberLogitec reports that it has begun work on a new Equipment Control System and a maritime digital twin platform for the Busan Port Authority as part of the Jinhae New Port development programme.
The project is included within a KRW 14 trillion (approx. US$9.5 billion) plan running to 2045 to develop a new AI-driven automated terminal at the site.
The 18-month contract, which began in October 2025, will introduce a unified interface to connect major automated handling equipment at the terminal. AI-based optimisation and scheduling capabilities are planned to support improvements in safety and operational performance as the port expands its automation systems.
CyberLogitec is leading a consortium with HD E&C and OpenSG. The company will manage the ECS architecture and prototype development, based on its experience in Terminal Operating Systems and port automation. HD E&C will handle the development of the maritime digital twin, while OpenSG will work on the fleet management system and equipment emulators to support the new platform.
The consortium aims to deliver a standardised ECS model to support future port automation projects. The system is intended to integrate automated cranes, vehicles and yard equipment directly with the TOS to support synchronised operations across the terminal.
The implementation of the maritime digital twin platform will provide real-time modelling of marine conditions and is expected to improve environmental prediction and support future autonomous navigation applications as the port expands its digital infrastructure.
