MGI Engineering has unveiled SeaGlide, an all-electric foiling uncrewed surface vessel designed for short-range autonomous maritime logistics and last-mile delivery to islands and coastal communities.
SeaGlide can carry up to 200kg for 150km at a cruise speed of 25 knots using hydrofoils to lift the hull and reduce drag. The platform integrates with MGI’s Mosquito cargo UAV to create an end-to-end air-sea delivery chain from inland addresses to remote locations without human handling.
The USV uses composites and control systems derived from Formula 1 racing technologies and features BVLOS-certified autonomy with AIS, radar and optical sensors, plus collision-avoidance and precision-docking software.
MGI says that it is also developing a hybrid-electric variant to extend range to 500km for heavier payloads.
“SeaGlide is a direct response to the commercial and environmental challenges in maritime logistics,” said Mike Gascoyne, MGI’s Chief Executive Officer.
“By applying our F1 experience in lightweight composites and aerodynamic efficiency to the water, we’ve created a platform that makes autonomous, zero-emission delivery commercially viable.”
