HydroSurv has delivered a REAV-25 Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) to Skanska Norway, capable of deployment for infrastructure projects within inland waterways, ports, and coastal environments.
The USV, which has been named Saga, will be operated by the in-house survey and inspection unit of the company. It is primarily intended for high-resolution bathymetric surveys using a Norbit iWBMS multibeam echo sounder to assist in the design, construction, and maintenance of maritime infrastructure.
The REAV-25 technology is designed for zero-emission operations. It is equipped with twin 2.5 kW rim-driven thrusters to reduce the risk of damage in shallow water and is powered by a 6-kWh lithium battery system.
The vessel also features the Virtual Watchkeeper Vessel Control System (VCS) and a Dynautics Spectre autopilot.
“The portability and flexibility of the platform allows rapid mobilisation and the repeatable collection of high-quality survey data, aligning well with Skanska’s operational and project delivery requirements,” said David Hull, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HydroSurv.
The vessel is currently undergoing trials in the United Kingdom and is expected to begin operational service in Norway in early spring 2026.
