Advanced Navigation raises $110m to scale autonomous PNT systems

Advanced Navigation reports that it has raised US$110 million in a Series C funding round to expand its Positioning, Navigation, Timing (PNT) technologies.

A specialist in high-precision inertial hardware and AI-driven software, the Australian company’s architecture relies on AdNav Intelligence, a software fusion engine that combines data from multiple sensors in real time.

This multi-sensor approach is designed to ensure that autonomous ships and other vehicles can navigate even when GPS signals are degraded or unavailable.

The latest funding round was led by Airtree Ventures, with participation from Quadrant Private Equity and the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC). Existing backers, including Main Sequence, KKR, and In-Q-Tel, also participated. The investment will be used to accelerate global expansion, particularly in the US and European markets.

“The era of relying on a single silver bullet for navigation is over,” said Chris Shaw, CEO and Co-founder at Advanced Navigation.

“Across defence, energy transition, humanitarian response, and autonomous missions, certainty is required where GPS can no longer be trusted. The future belongs to intelligent systems that can sense, adapt, and navigate independently.”

Advanced Navigation plans to use the capital to establish PNT Centres of Excellence in its priority markets. These centres will house specialised engineering teams to strengthen regional supply chains and support technical leadership. The company also intends to pursue targeted technology acquisitions in fields such as robotics, photonics, and quantum sensing.
