Port of Kaohsiung and Port of Gdynia to collaborate in smart port development

Port of Kaohsiung has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Port of Gdynia to deepen ties between the Taiwanese gateway and Poland’s principal commercial port.

The agreement aims to increase cooperation between the two maritime hubs in the realms of smart port transformation, security management, and technology development.

The parties say that they intend to establish long-term mechanisms for sharing experience in port administration and management, covering areas such as digitalisation applications and green port initiatives focused on carbon reduction measures.

The goal of the information sharing agreement is to raise the operational effectiveness and international competitiveness of both ports.

Port of Kaohsiung is the largest commercial port in Taiwan and serves as a key transhipment hub for Asia Pacific container traffic. The Port of Gdynia, a deep-water port on the Baltic Sea, is currently implementing infrastructure upgrades to bolster its role in the European transportation network.

The ports plan to organise workshops, seminars, and delegations to promote mutual interests and create new opportunities for the maritime sectors of both countries.
