Marpoint has renewed its American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Product Design Assessment (PDA) for its EVO2 network management device and UNI virtualisation platform, while extending the assessment to include its next-generation EVO3.
EVO2 and EVO3 integrate multiple WAN connections, including LEO satellite, VSAT, L-band and 5G, with centralised management of vessel communications and traffic. The platforms also include firewall protection, network traffic control, secure remote access and centralised monitoring.
UNI provides virtualised infrastructure for onboard applications, using a triple-node architecture to host multiple virtual machines and applications within a centralised environment.
The platform supports virtual machine replication, snapshots and crash-consistent backups with file recovery, allowing applications and data to be recovered following technical or cyber-related disruption.
Marpoint’s Managed IT Services can be integrated with EVO2, EVO3 and UNI to provide centralised fleet-wide management, including remote administration, continuous monitoring, configuration management, software and security updates, troubleshooting and incident response.
The ABS assessment renewal and expansion covers the product designs as maritime regulations, technical standards and cybersecurity requirements continue to develop.
