Qatar transport ministry automates 11 maritime e-services

Qatar’s Ministry of Transport (MOT) has automated 11 additional maritime services covering ship registration and seafarer affairs.

The services are now available through the ministry’s website, bringing the total number of maritime and land transport e-services available online to 21.

The new services cover Continuous Synopsis Records (CSR), certificates of specification amendment, ship deletion, ownership transfers, certificates of non-encumbrance, replacement of lost documents, mortgage requests and releases, and safety insurance for oil pollution damage.

They also include requests for To Whom It May Concern certificates and sea protest services.

The ministry said the services are intended to reduce the time and effort required to complete maritime transactions through its online platform.

The automation forms part of the MOT’s wider programme to digitise and automate services across its transport sectors.
