Viasat-3 F3 satellite enters service across Asia-Pacific

The ViaSat-3 F3 satellite launched by Inmarsat parent company Viasat has now entered service across the Asia-Pacific region, adding more than 1Tbps of throughput capacity for customers operating in the region.

The satellite is the second of three in Viasat’s ViaSat-3 Ka-band constellation, with the first satellite entering service in 2024.

ViaSat-3 F3 is designed to direct capacity towards areas of higher demand, supporting satellite connectivity across specific corridors and mobility markets.

The satellite’s entry into service more than doubles the bandwidth of Viasat’s existing satellite fleet, according to the company.

ViaSat-3 F2, which will serve the Americas, is in the final stages of in-orbit testing and is expected to enter service soon, the company said.
