ITC Global partners with Thuraya on VSAT+

ITC Global is to partner with Thuraya in delivering the recently launched Thuraya VSAT+ service, a package combining Ku-band VSAT with Thuraya’s L-band connectivity services.

Thuraya, a subsidiary of the Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), launched VSAT+ in Q4 2018, with IEC Telecom as its first distributor. The service combines Ku-band VSAT connectivity, for high-speed data, with Thuraya’s L-band service as a backup system when within Thuraya’s coverage area across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

ITC Global, a subsidiary of Panasonic Avionics Corporation, will leverage Panasonic’s Ku-band capacity to power the service, which will be offered as a fixed-price package.

“This partnership represents the mutual goals of both organisations in reaching an expansive and diverse customer market across many industries which require mobility support,” said Kevin Franciotti, Vice President, Global Channel Partnership at ITC Global.

“Additionally, ITC Global’s access to large amounts of bandwidth through Panasonic and the technology roadmaps for the future present an opportunity for long-term growth. Given these synergies, it is exciting to establish this partnership with Thuraya, and we look forward to working together to serve its more than 40 distributors operating across the globe.”
