ABS integrates Mission Secure Inc cyber tech into risk analysis programme

Classification society ABS has announced a new partnership with Mission Secure Inc (MSi) to expand its cyber protection capabilities by integrating the MSi platform into the ABS FCI Cyber Risk Methodology.

The addition of the MSi system should provide a significantly enhanced cyber defence for the industrial control systems that operate modern day vessels and offshore platforms, ABS said, with the combined system delivering a shared understanding of cyber risk across assets, in combination with continuous network monitoring and protective technologies.

The platform is powered by an on board or Cloud-based dashboard for centralised management at all levels, the classification society adds.

“ABS shines a spotlight on cyber security vulnerabilities using the FCI Cyber Risk method and MSi drops in the technologies required to protect clients’ critical functions,” said Dennis Hackney, ABS Senior Advisor, Cyber.

“Essentially, we accurately point out cyber security exposures using the FCI Cyber Risk method and MSi provides the technologies to close those gaps.”

This new agreement with MSi follows on from another recently announced partnership with cyber software firm SecurityGate to also integrate its technologies into the FCI Cyber Risk process.
