Nora B gets new nav and comms package

Radio Holland reports that it has completed the supply of complete navigation and communications package to a hybrid shallow-water MPSV, built at Neptune Marine in the Netherlands for Spanish offshore service operator Zumaia Offshore.

The multipurpose workboat Nora B has been supplied with VSAT communications equipment, satellite TV, and a new DP2 system as part of the deployment.

The package includes a range of Furuno systems, for X-Band radar, river radar, DPGS, echosounder, Navtex, AIS, MF/HF, BNWAS, and Sat-C SSAS/LRIT. Also included is Jotron safety equipment, Sailor VHFs and VSAT, Intellian Sat TV, Raytheon Anschutz Standard 22 Gyrocompass and RH Marine’s own DPT4500 DP2 system.

The ship became operational in April, with its maiden project taking place in the Eemshaven area, north of the Netherlands. The vessel’s next assignment will be in the English Channel.

“We have already delivered and installed multiple extensive NavCom plus DP packages for several years now at Neptune, and have built a close relationship with the yard as a key supplier,” said Kenneth de Grood, Account Manager for Radio Holland Netherlands.

“The end customer Zumaia Offshore already had one of their previous vessels (Aitana B) equipped by Radio Holland with NavCom and a DP1 system. We are happy to work with Neptune and Zumaia again.”
