GNS has announced the launch of Voyager GLOBAL FLEET, a fully searchable web-based global database of over 120,000 vessels, shipowners, operators and managers providing information on vessel characteristics, ownership and management, trading history, sailing hours, port calls, PSC inspections, and hourly AIS position and destinations dating back to 2015.
Voyager GLOBAL FLEET builds on GNS’s Voyager FLEET INSIGHT platform offering fleet-specific data analytics to shipping company customers, allowing users to filter and search the global fleet of IMO-registered vessels using over 100 different search criteria.
Results can be viewed both in data tables and spatially on a map, and can be used to generate customised reports. Data can also be exported for further analysis and integration into the user’s own forms, spreadsheets and systems.
“Until now, it has been hard for ship suppliers to get access to the data needed to effectively target their sales and marketing activities and it’s also been difficult to optimise service, maintenance and support resources to meet customer needs, said GNS CEO Paul Stanley.
“Our new Voyager GLOBAL FLEET service changes that by providing every maritime organisation with the opportunity to use data to drive new growth and efficiencies and unlock new insights.”
In related news, GNS has also announced an new set of enhancements to its Voyager PLANNING STATION, with the addition of tools to manage compliance with special environmental requirements under IMO MARPOL regulations.
The upgrade comes as part of the release of Voyager 7.3.4, supporting MARPOL compliance management with designated Special Areas, Emission Control Areas and Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas.
The new features allow users to view up to date areas under MARPOL as an overlay on either a map or an ENC from within Voyager. Its route planning function has also been improved to allow users to identify and display intersecting special areas, along with the relevant entry and exit points and zone entry times.
The new MARPOL feature is being released to all Voyager PLANNING STATION subscribers free of charge and will shortly be available as a patch download, the company says.
