Intellian launches new 65cm Fleet Xpress antenna

Intellian has announced the commercial launch of the new NX version of its 65cm Fleet Xpress terminal, with the GX60NX being made available to Inmarsat’s wholesale partners as of this month.

The antenna has been designed specifically for use with the Global Xpress Ka-band VSAT network and has been type approved by Inmarsat for shipboard installation.

The Below Deck Terminal (BDT), single cable antenna connection and AptusNX control software are identical to those used for the existing 1-metre GX100NX antenna, Intellian says. The modem and mediator are also built into the BDT, to simplify installation and allow dual antenna systems to be more easily configured through the addition of a second NX antenna and Antenna Control Unit (ACU).

“We are delighted that the GX60NX has been type approved and is ready for use for our channel partners with Fleet Xpress,” said Ronald Spithout, President, Inmarsat Maritime.

“This reinforces our close and innovative partnership with Intellian. We now have more than 9,000 vessels using the service and we are seeing an increase in demand for digital and crew services, which is why we are launching a further seven satellites in the next three years.”
