NSC-Group agrees five-year bridge equipment support deal

NSC-Group of Germany has signed a fleetwide deal with Marlink subsidiary Telemar for the provision of remote support for its shipboard bridge navigation equipment through to 2025.

The five-year agreement covers inspection, maintenance, testing and overhaul of bridge equipment including Radio Surveys, Voyage Data Recorders, Gyro Compass, X-band and S-band radars, both in person and remotely.

The deal is in addition to an April 2020 agreement between NSC-Group and Marlink for the provision of VSAT connectivity services to its fleet of containerships, multi-purpose carriers, bulkers, con-bulkers, car carriers and tankers.

“Digitalised and efficient vessel operations require reliable connectivity and certainty of service for critical bridge navigation components and systems,” said Björn Eichhorn, Director Fleet Management at NSC-Group.

“Our experience with Marlink’s professional approach to connectivity and the efforts of the Telemar team to respond to our request for service were critical deciding factors.”
