UK-based maritime technology company StratumFive has expanded the range of sensors and systems connecting to its Podium platform following the announcement of a new deal with start-up Osiris, which will link its SOFeXchange port event logging capabilities with the StratumFive infrastructure.
The new deal will add near real time data for port calls into the list of parameters used for voyage performance data and analysis within Podium, integrating that data within its timeline architecture.
Port Logs or Statements of Fact (SOFs) are usually produced by multiple parties in a variety of formats, like PDFs, Excel spreadsheets or hand-written documents, requiring additional effort to reconcile these statements before they can be applied to calculations.
SOFeXchange aims to allow users to instead enter events during a vessel’s stay in port into a standard form, which can then be viewed by all relevant parties in real time in any format they choose. The final statement can be made available as soon as the port call is complete.
“The addition of SOFeXchange to Podium meets a number of our objectives with respect to solving real day to day practical problems with innovative solutions whilst generating valuable data for longer term benefit,” said Ross Martin, StratumFive COO.
“When we launched Podium we wanted to create a community where start-ups and innovation could thrive and we are delighted to welcome SOFeXchange as a Podium Compatible Solution and we wish Osiris every success.”
