Spire expands maritime data analysis portfolio

Satellite AIS data provider Spire has announced the launch of a new platform and analytics product for the maritime industry, to allow users to create their own dashboards and alerts customised to their specific use cases from Spire datasets.

Through the Spire Bridge portal, customers will be able to access a new product called Spire Analytics to monitor data usage and operationalise the data the company measures and provides.

New analytics capabilities have been added to expand on Spire’s existing Maritime API services to make its data more accessible and easier to transform into actionable insights. The new tool allows customers to graph, report, and visualise the data, and to filter searches by ship type, voyage, density map, fleet, port, anchorage, or terminal event.

“After listening to our customers, the maritime team has developed a platform for users to better access the data and information they need when they need it. Spire puts its customers first and Spire Bridge is a result of this philosophy,” said Simon van den Dries, General Manager, Spire Maritime.

Spire says that it now has more than 100 satellites in orbit that are collecting hundreds of millions of messages per day to continuously build the dataset available.
