Class society DNV has launched a new Mobile Inspection App to help ship owners and managers to digitalise their onboard safety inspections, centralising collected information and providing onshore staff with instant access to results.
Part of the company’s ShipManager QHSE software package, the App enables reporting online or offline on PCs and mobile devices, allowing the results of an inspection to be captured directly on site through text, audio, photos and videos.
When used in conjunction with the ShipManager Analyzer application users can apply the data to track their company’s safety performance and identify potential improvements through the available dashboards.
Configuration options in the Reporting module allow users to create and configure their own inspection templates, checklists and ratings, which can be made available on mobile devices through the App, ensuring standardisation across the entire fleet.
“At DNV we are committed to supporting our customers in their digitalisation journey by building the software they need,” said Torsten Kappel, Head of Ship Product Line, Digital Solutions at DNV.
“The Mobile Inspection App helps streamline workflows and improves data quality, which again will help our customers meet their safety KPIs.”
