Subsea and renewable energy operator Olympic Subsea has agreed a deal with Kongsberg Digital to install the Vessel Insight system across its fleet as a means of accessing, collecting and consolidating vessel data.
The companies have already worked together in implementing Kongsberg’s Vessel Performance system for energy usage and operational monitoring, with the Vessel Insight installation building on that work by supporting collection of contextualised data from Olympic Subsea’s ships to improve analysis.
“Environmental focus has always been and will continue to be at the core of Olympic Subsea’s strategy,” adds Glenn Erik Valø, Commercial Manager, Olympic Subsea.
“By using state-of-the-art diesel-electric hybrid technology, we have minimised our environmental footprint, and (Kongsberg’s) Vessel Insight will be an invaluable aid for bringing about further optimisation.”

The first vessel in the fleet to deploy the complete Kongsberg system will be Olympic Artemis, with work expected to commence in August 2021.
