Classification Society ClassNK has released its new Data Quality Guidelines publication, with the goal of supporting shipboard data collection and utilisation processes among various stakeholders in the maritime sector.
The guidelines explain various characteristics of shipboard data, provide management procedures for ensuring quality, and cover the standard requirements for shipboard data servers and data formats as outlined in ISO19847 and ISO19848.
The document also includes an overview of other major international standards such as ISO8000 and DAMA DMBoK to create a wider understanding of data quality management.
The new guidelines are available to download free of charge via ClassNK’s website for those who have registered for the ClassNK ‘My Page’ service.
