Telenor Maritime signs up to StratumFive platform

Telenor Maritime’s ship data system has linked up with StratumFive’s Podium platform, allowing data collected by Telenor Maritime users to be directly integrated with StratumFive optimisation applications.

The connection will provide vessel operators with tracking, routing, safety, security, fuel consumption and emissions reduction tools, allowing the data relevant for each user to be displayed on one platform.

“The growth of the Podium Connected community and the service Podium delivers to them, whether they be owners, managers, operators, OEM or others, depends on the ability to transmit data effectively. For this reason, we are delighted to welcome Telenor Maritime and look forward to advancing the digitalisation of shipping services with them,” said Ross Martin, StratumFive CEO.

Telenor Maritime provides shipboard connectivity services, including VSAT, 4G and Internet of Things (IoT) device integration. The company expanded its data collection capabilities with the acquisition of Finnish tech firm KNL Networks in late 2020.

“We’re excited to partner up with StratumFive to grow our ecosystem of connected ships and to help our customers to turn raw data to business value. Together with StratumFive, Telenor Maritime takes an important step in the digital transformation at sea by being able to provide an integrated end-to-end solution offered as a managed service,” said Toni Lindén, CPO, Telenor Maritime.
