Satcom antenna leasing start-up launched

A new option for satcom antenna financing has launched, with start-up SatLease Capital aiming to support satellite equipment leasing arrangements for maritime and land enterprise service providers as an alternative to funding large equipment purchases.

“We recognised that there was a growing need not being met in the market,” said SatLease Capital Chairman Erwan Emilian, also Chairman of the Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA) and a board member at IEC Telecom.

“We’ve assembled an elite squad with global satellite and finance experience and expertise second to none, and have already started to finance both land-based and maritime satellite telecom equipment needs for customers around the world.”

The new company aims to allow end-users to simplify the process of accessing the latest satellite telecommunications systems by making fixed, regular payments instead of having to fund a large equipment purchase upfront.

Scheduled replacements or technology upgrades can also be included in the lease, the firm says, so users can stay up to date as satcom technology evolves.
