Siglar Carbon emissions data to be integrated by Vortexa

Siglar Carbon’s emissions analytics capabilities are to be added to the Vortexa platform for the energy and shipping market following a new partnership between the firms, to allow users to consider the impact of ship emissions in commercial shipping decisions.

Tankers represent approximately 25% of the maritime industry’s emissions, and large tankers can emit several thousand tonnes of CO2 on a single global voyage. Adding Siglar Carbon’s emissions analytics to the Vortexa app will assist charterers, shipowners and brokers in the tanker market in making carbon efficient decisions.

“This partnership allows new decision-makers in commercial shipping to access our best in business emissions insight,” said Sigmund Kyvik, Siglar Carbon’s CEO.

“By giving more people access to the same comparable data, we promote a common carbon language that can enable carbon efficient decisions and substantially reduce emissions.”

Adding emissions ratings to the Vortexa analytics app is a first step in the partnership, with both partners saying they are keen to further develop commercial decarbonisation opportunities together.
