NYK partners with RightShip and Solverminds on PSC data sharing

Japanese shipping company NYK has announced a new collaboration with RIghtShip and software company Solverminds on a product that links NiBiKi, NYK Group’s common platform for ship management operations, with RightShip’s data platform.

This new Port State Control (PSC) Submission API technology is designed to automatically share data between both RightShip’s and NYK’s systems, having initially launched on RightShip’s RightSTORE e-commerce platform.

The API will enable users to submit and receive PSC inspection and deficiency data without the need to switch between separate applications. RightShip currently closes out around 39,000 PSC deficiencies in its system on an annual basis.

“At NYK, our basic philosophy of ‘Bring Value to Life’ is based on the pursuit of safe operation and safe cargo handling,” said Hiroshi Kawaguchi, General Manager, Dry Bulk Marine Quality Control Group, NYK Line.

“In PSC inspections, building a system that enables more proactive reporting by shipowners and managers will play an important role as part of the above innovation efforts. We expect that the response time of ship owners and managers can be greatly reduced.”
