Climate tech startup Syroco has announced that it is partnering with both Spire and Theyr to widen the portfolio of data sources and calculation capabilities available within the Syroco EfficientShip digital twin platform.
Spire is a provider of space-based data and analytics, including satellite weather and AIS data, while Theyr is a developer of AI voyage optimisation systems. Under the terms of the partnerships, Theyr will be delivering its multi objective performance optimisation algorithms, and Spire its metocean (weather and sea conditions) data.
Leveraging these additional embedded technologies will improve the capabilities of Syroco’s digital twin platform in computing optimised routes that reduce fuel consumption and emissions while accounting for constraints such as expected time of arrival.
“Syroco has chosen to partner with best-in-class technology providers to deliver weather-optimised routes to our users,” said Alex Caizergues, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Syroco.
“Integrating Theyr’s routing engine and Spire’s space-powered weather data with Syroco EfficientShip, we are able to offer a world-class multiobjective voyage optimisation solution that produces actionable insights for ship operation and has a measurable impact on fuel consumption and emissions.”
