EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven implements Portchain

EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven (CTW) has agreed a deal with Portchain to implement its port data exchange system to streamline and optimise vessel arrivals.

CTW will use the Portchain Connect application to increase the quality and speed of berth alignment for visiting ships through the implementation of digital handshakes and data sharing.

The software will allow the container terminal to receive real-time schedule and move count updates directly from carriers’ own systems, so that any required responses or counter proposals can be made quickly to align the vessel schedule with the terminal berth plan.

“Our collaboration with Portchain is underpinned by a shared commitment to excellence, as we work together to harness the power of data collaboration,” said Pierre Cordes, Planning Manager at EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven.

Portchain Connect also provides users with an overview of all vessel calls at the facility to allow berthing information to be transferred digitally, removing the costs associated with manual communication and improving schedule reliability

“The inclusion of EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven in the Portchain Connect Network underscores our commitment to transforming the industry. We’re thrilled to embark on this collaborative venture and look forward to a continued partnership,” said Thor Thorup, CCO and Co-Founder, Portchain.
