Summer campaign to cut vessel emissions begins

Maritime decarbonisation advisory services company VPS has partnered with a range of shipping companies on an initiative aiming to save 15,000 tons of CO2 from vessel operations during summer 2024.

The number of participating vessels in the Maress Campaign stands at 303, from companies including Solstad Offshore, Tidewater, Skansi Offshore, Maersk Supply Service, DOF Simon Møkster Shipping, Oceaneering, Rem Offshore, Olympic Subsea, Havila Shipping, Sanco Shipping, and Sea1 Offshore.

VPS says that the main purpose of the initiative is to create collaboration and awareness around emissions reduction, with updates on the progress of the companies involved being posted online via the Maress Campaign Dashboard.

The website is open for anyone in the industry to view total CO2 reductions by the companies, updated daily and listing the leaders in each category of efficiency gains.
