Port Everglades implements new port community system

Florida International Terminal (FIT) at Port Everglades in the US reports that it has completed the implementation of the eModal Community Portal (eCP) at the facility, to improve port operations and intermodal logistics.

The software, developed by Advent eModal (AeM), a provider of port community systems for the intermodal supply chain, includes PreGate and Fee Manager applications to assist FIT in optimising workflows at the terminal.

The platform will provide increased cargo visibility, facilitating fee payments and managing appointment scheduling, while supporting an improved level of automation in container terminal operations.

“FIT’s commitment to the port’s operational efficiency is evident between the recent 10-year extension of their lease and the introduction of the eModal program, which we anticipate will improve traffic flow through their terminal and the Southport cargo area,” said Glenn Wiltshire, Acting Port Director for Port Everglades.

The deployment also included Tideworks Technology’s terminal operating system, Mainsail 10, which is directly integrated with AeM.
