Scotland-based Songa Shipmanagement has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Korean technology company LAB021 for the implementation of Vessellink systems aboard its fleet of 31 tankers and container ships under management.
Vessellink will replace Songa Shipmanagement’s current onboard reporting system and will be used for real-time vessel monitoring, route optimisation and energy management, with the aim of reducing fuel consumption and managing environmental regulation compliance.
“By adopting LAB021’s Vessellink solution, we expect to maximise our vessel operation efficiency and achieve better environmental protection,” said Kenneth David McLeod, Managing Director of Songa Shipmanagement.
“This will play an important role in leading the sustainable maritime industry.”
The agreement was brokered by the Korean Register (KR), based on the compatibility of KR’s decarbonisation verification system KR GEARS with the Vessellink application.
