AST Networks launches hybrid satcom package

AST Networks has launched a new maritime satcom offering, bundling Starlink services with Iridium Certus as a back-up, as well as integrated GSM connectivity.

The hybrid package combines and manages the services using AST Networks’ LinkBox technology, switching between the different communication systems as required.

The company says that the service is customisable to meet specific operational needs, and also offers the option to integrate existing satellite systems or choose other bearers.

“At AST Networks, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of maritime connectivity,” said Gregory Darling, Founder and Chairman, AST Networks.

“The Starlink Companion Bundle represents a new era of hybrid communication, combining the speed of Starlink, the reliability of Iridium, and the flexibility of cellular data.”

“This solution is not just about staying connected — it’s about empowering vessels to operate more efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively no matter where they are in the world.”
