HD Hyundai adds weather data to vessel performance models

HD Hyundai Marine Solution (HMS), a subsidiary of the HD Hyundai Group, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Weathernews with the aim of integrating new weather forecasting data with HMS’s vessel performance models.

Under the deal, Weathernews will supply weather data and HMS will contribute its technical expertise in vessel performance modelling, with the goal of delivering highly optimised route planning and improved operational performance for maritime users.

HMS also plans to use Weathernews’s data to expand its wider systems portfolio, the companies said.

“This collaboration underscores the importance of precise weather forecasting in modern maritime operations,” Weathernews added, in a statement.

“We are excited to work with HD Hyundai Marine Solution to bring innovative and sustainable solutions to the global shipping industry.”
