Marcura partners with Weathernews on vessel arrival optimisation

Marcura and Weathernews have agreed a new deal which will see Marcura’s PortLog system integrated with Weathernews’ weather routing and performance analytics to allow data to be more easily shared between the respective platforms.

The integration includes data on vessel performance, bunker management, and laytime optimisation to support improved planning and optimisation of times of arrival.

“Optimal time of arrival in port is a complicated matter, involving many considerations. By joining efforts with Weathernews, we can now offer the industry a solution for this challenge,” said Kim Ahler, SVP Product at Marcura

The move will allow Marcura customers to make better decisions about vessel hire and laytime, manage bunker costs more effectively, and improve overall voyage planning and profitability.

“We are very excited about this integration with Marcura, connecting two critical stages of a voyage—at sea and in port, added Joachim Gerlach, Senior Sales Manager at Weathernews.

“The integration provides our global customers with a complete end-to-end overview of each voyage, allowing them to optimise against these key parameters. We look forward to offering this solution to our customers worldwide.”
