Berenberg, DNV and BSM create data integration for EUA trading

Berenberg, a private bank in the shipping sector, has partnered with ship manager BSM and DNV’s Veracity data platform to automate EU-Emissions trading for Berenberg’s clients.

Clients can now automatically share verified emissions data with Berenberg’s EUA trading engine via a pre-defined template using Veracity, allowing Berenberg to directly retrieve the data and provide specific quotes for trading.

Ship management company BSM joined the project to assist in establishing the necessary process for successful data sharing between the three platforms and has now become one of the first users of the integrated system.

“By integrating BSM’s automated carbon compliance system with the platform capabilities of DNV and Berenberg, we can leverage emission data collected across our managed fleet and directly translate data verification results into a purchase offer for the required amount of EUAs,” said Alexander Senteris, Compliance Manager Emission Trading Systems at BSM.

“This is a unique process integration that significantly reduces manual effort and streamlines the entire data flow.”
