Star Information Systems acquires Arribatec Marine

Consolidation in the maritime tech sector is continuing apace, with Star Information Systems (STAR) announcing that it has agreed to acquire Arribatec Marine to expand its fleet technical management capabilities and support its growth strategy.

Founded in 1983, Arribatec Marine’s flagship product is the Infoship a web-based fleet management system. Headquartered in Rapallo, Italy, the company has a team of approximately 40 staff.

“This acquisition strengthens our capabilities and allows us to build on Infoship’s strong position in maritime digitalisation,” said Bjørn Martin Klokkernes, CEO of Star Information Systems.

“We look forward to welcoming their talented team and working together.”

STAR says that it expects the acquisition to create long-term synergies, broadening its service offerings while maintaining stability in the short term. The deal will also strengthen its sales and support network.

The transaction is expected to close in the coming weeks, subject to final approvals.
