Nisshin Shipping and Statu Shipping deploy OrbitMI for fleet optimisation

Nisshin Shipping and Statu Shipping have each agreed new deals to adopt compliance and vessel reporting systems from OrbitMI, to support fleet optimisation and regulatory adherence.

Nisshin Shipping of Japan initially implemented the technology as part of a pilot programme on a newly built vessel, before expanding the deployment to 14 ships in total. Installation on further vessels is currently under consideration.

“We sought a solution to enhance fleet management by optimising reporting, emissions tracking and compliance, while reducing manual data entry,” said Tatsuomi Hori, Director and Executive Officer of Nisshin Shipping.

Statu Shipping of Turkey has implemented OrbitMI’s compliance systems across its fleet of 20 bulk carriers, where it will be used for real-time monitoring and proactive management of emissions and regulatory obligations.

This will include simulation of voyages, assessment of Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) impacts, estimation of EU Allowances (EUAs) required under the Emissions Trading System (ETS), and forecasting of FuelEU costs. Operators can configure real-time alerts on speed, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and fuel consumption to optimise fuel use and lower emissions.

“With regulatory requirements becoming more complex, we needed a compliance solution that goes beyond simple reporting,” said Ercüment Ahmet Solakarı, Managing Director at Statu Shipping.

“Orbit allows us to actively manage compliance and emissions throughout a voyage, ensuring we meet regulatory standards while optimising fleet efficiency.”
