ZERO44 and Frontier Fuels have agreed a partnership to support maritime stakeholders in integrating biofuels into their operations to meet FuelEU Maritime requirements.
The collaboration will see Frontier Fuels’ B100 biofuel, Bloom E, integrated into ZERO44’s emissions management software. Users of the platform will be able to access data-driven recommendations on biofuel volumes and pricing as part of their compliance planning, with the system offering forecasts based on vessel-specific parameters, fuel mixes, and EU exposure.
The tool provides emissions estimates for full reporting years, specific periods or individual voyages, allowing shipowners, managers and charterers to compare different compliance strategies such as pooling, banking, borrowing or paying penalties.
The system also allows customers to enter their own data or add alternative biofuel suppliers for comparison.
“Our software delivers precise recommendations on the exact biofuel volumes required to reduce emissions and avoid FuelEU Maritime penalties,” said Friederike Hesse, Managing Director and Co-Founder of ZERO44.
“By incorporating vessel-specific parameters, operational profiles, EU exposure, and fuel mixes, we move beyond generic guidelines and provide actionable, data-driven insights.”
“We find it important that our customers have access to the best options out there. We offer them an easy way to compare different strategies and pick the compliance strategy that best suits their operations and business models.”
