Lloyd’s Register (LR) has expanded its Global Fuel Finder tool to include new functionality for assessing biofuel availability and quality, offering ship operators additional support in managing fuel procurement and compliance strategies.
Developed by LR’s Fuel Oil Bunkering Analysis and Advisory Service (FOBAS) team, the updated platform allows users to search, compare and analyse biofuels across global ports.
Accessible via the LR GMT platform, the system provides access to six months of supplier and port data, visualisation of trends, and downloadable reports, with side-by-side comparisons for up to four supplier-port combinations.
“The inclusion of biofuels is the latest step in our commitment to delivering practical, real-time, data-driven solutions that support the decarbonisation of shipping,” said Andrew Shaw, Managing Director of FOBAS.
“As the industry continues to evolve, our enhanced Fuel Finder ensures clients are always equipped with the information they need, enabling them to assess fuel options at a glance, compare performance, and reduce operational risk.”
FOBAS also supports operators with fuel testing, advisory services and risk mitigation strategies.
