Dualog has updated to its maritime email system, enabling individual logins for crew members while maintaining access to role-based addresses (such as Master@).
The update also adds multi-factor authentication (MFA) and full audit functionality to improve cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.
Each seafarer is now assigned a personal corporate email account, with traceable usage monitored via the Dualog portal. Access to shared mailboxes is restricted to authorised personnel only, to reduce reliance on shared credentials.
“With this release, Dualog Mail provides unlimited personal email accounts for all your seafarers,” says Dualog CCO Silje Moan.
“Each crew member now has a secure, traceable, and standardised communication tool, supporting operational clarity and fostering a stronger sense of belonging.”
Automatic or manual account management through crew management systems is supported, via CSV uploads or APIs. Permissions update automatically as crew roles change, with full traceability of access.
Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality is also planned to be added soon, allowing ship operators to extend identity management across onboard systems.
