MarinaChain and Heung-A Shipping launch AI regulatory document management

MarinaChain has partnered with Heung-A Shipping to introduce a new AI-based regulatory document management system aimed at improving compliance and operational efficiency across maritime operations.

The system is designed to address issues with manual document handling by automating the organisation and updating of regulatory files. The platform uses AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology to reduce file sizes by up to 80%, parse documents automatically, and maintain alignment with changing industry standards.

These include IMO, ISO and RightShip requirements, with the system also incorporating the 13 elements of the TMSA3 programme as well as SIRE 2.0 to offer a centralised framework for ESG-related documentation.

Features include version control, revision tracking, automated regulatory updates, and an AI chatbot for querying documents, with the system to be updated to support compliance with FuelEU Maritime, EU ETS, and corporate sustainability reporting (CSRD) regulations, as well as adding functionality for contract and report automation.

“This collaboration marks a significant milestone in applying an AI-based regulatory document management system suited for global shipping companies,” said Dan Ha, CEO of Heung-A Shipping.

“It enables an adaptive response to changes in IMO and ISO standards—without repetitive manual work.”
