BetterSea and Normec Verifavia in FuelEU data verification partnership

BetterSea has agreed a partnership with Normec Verifavia to integrate automated data validation and compliance pool verification into its FuelEU Maritime trading platform.

BetterSea’s platform is used to convert surplus FuelEU Maritime compliance capacity into a tradeable asset. The agreement will see all compliance pools created through the BetterSea Marketplace verified directly by Normec Verifavia, removing the need for additional third-party coordination or separate validation processes.

Normec Verifavia will independently verify compliance pools but pool members remain free to use their preferred verifier for vessel-level reporting.

“This is about more than just compliance—it’s about future-proofing the industry,” said Maximilian Schroer, Co-CEO, BetterSea.

“BetterSea’s mission is to help shipowners not only meet regulatory requirements but also capitalise on them. With Normec Verifavia as our verification partner, we are ensuring that the transition to FuelEU is as effortless and beneficial as possible.”
