BAR Technologies adds real-time wind-assist performance tracking

BAR Technologies has introduced WindWings Hub, a digital platform designed to provide real-time operational data and performance analytics for vessels fitted with the company’s WindWings wind-assist system.

The platform offers visibility into voyage efficiency and maintenance indicators, making the data accessible via a central interface that can be integrated into daily operational workflows.

BAR says that initial trials of the system indicate fuel savings of up to 1.5 tonnes per day on typical global trading routes when using WindWings alongside the new monitoring platform.

“WindWings Hub was created out of a real need. Internally, we had access to fantastic performance data, but there wasn’t a way to easily share those insights with our customers,” said Andy Bryson, Head of Performance and Simulation at BAR Technologies.

“Now, with the Hub, we can put that information directly into their hands, allowing them to see exactly how their WindWings are working and where there are opportunities to save even more.”

The platform also supports predictive maintenance and long-term performance benchmarking by embedding the sail system’s data output into broader fleet analytics.
