Wallenius Marine and ABB open fleet support centre

Wallenius Marine has opened the doors of its OVERSEA Fleet Support Center, a concept developed in collaboration with ABB, to assist in managing vessel environmental, technical and voyage performance for client shipping companies.

OVERSEA will provide recommendations to help vessels achieve performance improvements, leveraging the ABB Ability Genix Industrial Analytics and AI IoT platform, combined with ship management and vessel performance management knowledge from Wallenius Marine.

Located in Stockholm, Sweden, the OVERSEA Fleet Support Center allows ship managers, onboard crew, and OVERSEA Center experts to use the same platform and data to work jointly on problem solving and improving operational efficiency.

Shipping companies can tap centre experts for daily advice, periodic performance reviews and reporting. The Stockholm facility will also work on pilot projects to further develop the OVERSEA offering, including a technical optimisation module (for hull & propeller, main engine efficiency/condition) and a monitoring, forecasting and breakdown function.

“OVERSEA is fully aligned with our sustainability ambitions, taking the marine industry towards truly sustainable shipping,” said Johan Mattsson, CEO of Wallenius Marine.

“We are very satisfied to see the organisation grow, and the OVERSEA centre in Stockholm inaugurated, ready to support customers and provide them with world-class service and support.”
